Retention Specialist, Personal Insurance

Job Description
As a Retention Specialist, you will help generate and nurture Personal Insurance leads. You will use a consultative approach to advise clients and help them make educated decisions about their Personal Insurance needs. As a member of the Personal Insurance Sales Team, you will report directly to the Vice President of Personal Insurance.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing PROLINK’s current clients and reassessing if they qualify to be remarketed and sell the remarketed quotes to the client(s);
- Utilizing Compquote to assess if the client is getting the best rate for their risk and uploading to our insurer’s portal(s);
- Communicating with clients and sending documentation;
- Being an expert in the insurance space with regards to market trends related to products and premium fluctuations;
- Proactively seeking out clients who have seen large increases and quote our other markets typically 45-60 days before the client’s renewal by utilizing the reporting structure within our Broker Management System (SIG);
- Acting as a positive, supportive, and encouraging contributor to the Personal Insurance team;
- Proactively making suggestions as to how the department can serve clients better, advise them more effectively, and become more proficient;
- Ad hoc requests as directed by your Manager.
Education & Experience
The ideal candidate will meet many to most of the following requirements:
- Education: Must be RIBO Licensed.
- Experience: A minimum 2 years of experience in Account Management, Sales, Underwriting, or related roles in an insurance brokerage or insurance company. Exposure to Underwriting, Personal Insurance (High Net Worth), or Group Insurance is preferred. Experience with SIG is an asset.
- Skills: A team player with a client-centric approach, ready to deliver great service. Comfort with managing multiple demands, with proven organizational, time-management and prioritization skills.
- Softer Skills: A person who is positive, energized, articulate, engaging, empathetic and approachable.
